1. The time we won the UEFA Europa League

My adidas shirt from Chelsea’s victorious campaign in the Europa League. I’ll never forget that, because the Europa League wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. First we eliminated Sparta in a very tricky match, then we went on to play against Steaua Buçuresti. We lost the first leg 0-1, which meant we had to turn it around in the second leg. Our opponent managed to equalise in the added time of the first half time, so we needed to score at least three goals. And we did it, even though it was tough and we had to work hard to get the 3-1 victory. After that we defeated Rubin Kazan, bested Basel in the semis, and I’m sure you remember what the thrilling final against Benfica was like.

2. The time I got a clean sheet against Chelsea

It was the end of September 2016 and I got my first win with Arsenal, against Chelsea. You can probably guess why I had to keep this Puma shirt. It was a fantastic game, in all aspects, everybody played well and I got a clean sheet. I remember even David Seaman, the legendary Arsenal goalie, praising me after the match. He said that “Čech doesn’t make saves just for show” which I think is quite fitting. Right before the end of the game the Belgian forward Batshuayi was going one-on-one towards me, but I diminished his shooting angle, so his shot went straight to me.

3. The time I had special gloves

Puma came up with new type of gloves, with a revolutionary fastening and cooling systems. Plus they’re really comfortable and keep their shape. They’re called evoDisc. I’m glad I got to be the first goalkeeper to try them out in an official game, in March against Liverpool. The gloves were green, white and black and the only thing I’m sorry about is the fact we lost 1-3.

4. The time we had a party in London

It was December 2005, Christmas was coming and Chelsea held their traditional charity event. It’s called The Legends. I had kept the jacket, and twelve years later I found the folded invitation card inside. There was a photo of the legendary midfielder Dennis Wise with his son in his arms and the 2000 English cup on it, and it read: Dinner at 8 o’clock, black tie. The party was held in the very heart of London, right next to the river Thames. Chelsea organises this event every year and all the proceeds go to Chelsea Foundation. By the way, it was an Hugo Boss jacket and we wore them to all the UEFA Champions League games that season.
