Saved penalty led to victory

Chelsea have won 1-0 at West Ham as PETR CECH saved the penalty on 70 minutes to keep his side ahead in the game.

Salomon Kalou struck the only goal as he volleyed in from Frank Lampard's cross in the 55th minute.

Big Pete had to show his best even in the first half to keep the clean sheet. On 70 minutes the Czech stoper dived to the left to tip Noble’s penalty away from the goal.

"I was waiting till the very last moment and then I chose left. When did I last stop penalty in the league? It was in my first Chelsea season at Blackburn," mentioned Petr his crucial save during his 1025-minute-long run without conceded goal.

In the season 2004/2005 the Chelsea goalie kept 24 cleen sheets, in the present one he has done 18 yet.

The Blues will stay at the third position having three-point gap to the second Liverpool.
