Disappointment over Slovakia game result

As Marek Jankulovski made it 1-1 on 30 minutes, just eight minutes after Sestak's opener, the Czech display improved and the home side dominated the match with David Jarolim hitting the post in the second half.

However, with seven minutes left Jendrisek was set behind the Czech defensive line, Petr made a splendid save against his first shot but the second attempt finished home.

"It is a great disappointment. We played our best but it was not enough, the team is down now," said Petr after the game.

"We had hit the post when the score was 1-1, we were two centimetres from getting ahead. Were this so, the result would be completely different," regretted the Czech goalie.

The situation is not very optimistic for the Czech Republic now. The national team need to win all the four remaining games and still has to wait for drops of other squads in Group Three.
