Chelsea to win at Villa Park

Guus Hiddink's cure seems to be promissive as Chelsea defeated Aston Villa 1-0 with Nicolas Anelka scoring the winner on 19 minutes.

The French striker chipped over advancing Brad Friedel following Frank Lampard's smart pass.

Home side could have equalised after 34 minutes but Ashley Young hit only the bar from the free kick.

PETR CECH showed his best in the second half as the Chelsea number one blocked Agbonlahor's shot in the 54th minute and tipped away Barry's powerful right-foot finish on 68 minutes.

Aston Villa threw everything into attack in the end but the visitors could have made it two with Drogba, Bossingwa and Ballack firing in the last ten minutes.

The Blues has reached their first victory at Villa Park in ten years and replaced the hosts at the third place of the Premier League, having 52 points at the moment.

"It is great we have ended this run. It happened at the right time," said Petr.

"We had had a very good week as we prooved at Villa Park. We had been preparing carefully on this game," added the Czech international.
