Chelsea beat Southend to advance in FA Cup

Chelsea eliminated Southend in a FA Cup third round replay after 4-1 away win. Ballack, Kalou, Anelka and Lampard scored for Blues to deny Barrett's surprising opener.

PETR CECH appeared between the posts after absence in the Stamford Bridge match and was backed on the 15 minutes when Adam Barrett headed the hosts into a lead from a corner.

Chelsea keeper than astonishingly stopped Revell's header after 40 minutes and Blues started their turnaround. Michael Ballack's equaliser in the end of the first half was the starter for the Chelsea goalparade in the second part of the Southend play.

Scolari's side may now look forward to meeting Ipswich in round four on January 24.
