Best Czech player of the year

PETR CECH was named Czech Footballer of the Year for the season 2007/2008. He was granted the Golden Ball for the fourth year running.

Chelsea keeper has gained the most votes in a poll of Czech sports journalist over Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky and AC Milan's Marek Jankulovski.

"Tomas Rosicky was closed to me but then he has been injured for half the year," said Big Pete.

After a season of bad luck in Chelsea and Czech National Team it was a partial satisfaction.

"There had not been many reasons for joy. This trophey changes a bit this fact," concluded Petr.
